Full-service design, architecture, and procurement for Snowmass Village’s finest homes.
Matter Interiors is a family-led design studio built in Aspen, with three decades of relationships across the Roaring Fork Valley. We handle interior design, architecture, and procurement under one roof, so nothing gets lost in translation between your vision and the people building it.
For Snowmass Village homeowners, that matters even more. Many of our clients aren’t on-site day to day — they’re managing a second home, a ski-season retreat, or a property they’re planning to pass down. We built our process to carry that weight for you, from first sketch to final install.
From a single room to a whole-home transformation, we offer the full range of services a luxury project demands, all under one roof.
From full guts to targeted updates, we manage every phase of a high-end renovation — permitting, construction oversight, and the design details that make a remodeled home feel intentional, not patched together.
Our in-house team produces the technical drawings, electrical and plumbing plans, and millwork details your project needs to move through Aspen and Snowmass Village permitting without delay.
Concept to final install, we handle layout, finishes, furnishings, and styling for your Snowmass Village home, working as one point of contact instead of a chain of vendors.
Custom cabinetry, professional-grade appliances, and layouts built for how you actually cook and entertain — designed to hold up to ski-season use and everyday living alike.
We know the layout quirks and HOA requirements of Snowmass Village condos and townhomes, and design around them instead of fighting them.
Access to hand-knotted European textiles, custom pieces, and vendors most homeowners can’t reach on their own — sourced and delivered without you lifting a finger.
Gallery relationships and a trained eye help us find pieces that fit your space, your collection, and your budget, not just what happens to be available.
Six principles inform how we work. Each is a deliberate choice, and each one is a reason our clients trust us with projects that span years and travel thousands of miles.
Three founders, one shared standard of integrity and care for both the process and the outcome. We stay small on purpose, so every client gets the same hands-on attention from the people whose names are on the door.
One team carries the project from real estate search through final installation. One point of contact, no gaps.
Technical drawings, permitting, and construction documents come from our own team, not outsourced. We work as fluently in budgets and blueprints as in materials and light.
Three decades of relationships with the valley’s finest contractors, trades, and city officials. Earned over time, not acquired overnight.
Hand-knotted European textiles, gallery-sourced art, pieces others cannot find. We know where to look and who to call.
We design for the way families actually live today, and for the homes they hope to pass forward.
We begin by immersing ourselves in your space and your life. Through careful listening and thoughtful inquiry, we establish a shared vision alongside a clear budget, timeline, and set of guiding principles, before a single material decision is made.
We translate the vision into detailed digital design boards, client spec books, and 3D renderings that make every element tangible. Each document is built to communicate with your architect, contractor, and vendors with complete precision.
Our team produces full technical and interior architectural drawings — electrical, plumbing, millwork, elevations, and partition plans — to navigate Aspen’s permitting process and guide every spatial detail through construction.
With 30+ years of construction management experience, we lead your project from groundbreaking to final installation — acting as the stewards of your vision and your advocate on the ground, every step of the way.
Every project is private by nature. What follows is a glimpse into the range and depth of what we create.
Yes. Many of our clients are managing a second home, a seasonal retreat, or an inherited property from out of state. We coordinate design reviews, material approvals, and site walkthroughs remotely, with one point of contact on the ground so nothing waits on your travel schedule.
Structural, plumbing, and electrical work typically requires a permit through the Pitkin County Building Department, and any exterior changes go through Town of Snowmass Village design review. Our in-house architecture team handles both as part of your project, not as a separate hire.
Interior work can generally proceed year-round, but Snowmass Village and many HOAs enforce quiet hours and delivery restrictions during peak ski season (December through March). We plan noisier or exterior work around those windows so your project keeps moving without disrupting the neighborhood.
Discretion is standard practice for us, not an add-on. We sign NDAs when clients ask, keep project details off our portfolio on request, and limit who on our team and our vendor network has access to your home and plans.
It depends on scope — a kitchen renovation carries a different budget than a full-service design or a whole-home remodel. We build a transparent budget with you early in the Pre-Design phase, before any material decisions, so there are no surprises later. As of 2026, contact us for a current quote based on your project.
We recommend reaching out 3–6 months before you want work to begin, especially for larger renovations that need permitting lead time. The process starts with a Pre-Design conversation to establish your vision, budget, and timeline — no material decisions happen before that.
Matter Interiors is based in Aspen, just a short drive from Snowmass Village, and works throughout the Roaring Fork Valley on projects large and small. Whether your home is slope-side in Snowmass Village or tucked further into the valley, our team and vendor network travel to you.
Whether you’re planning a full renovation or refreshing a home you’ve owned for years, we’ll handle the details so you don’t have to be on-site for every decision.
