Living It Up

By Misty Milioto | February 12, 2016

Dancing Bear Aspen - A Timbers Resorts Residence Club property located near the base of Aspen Mountain, is unveiling its final phase this month—a new collection of residences in a building called Mountainside—with swanky owner offerings. The 10 three-bedroom, 3 ½-bathroom corner residences range in size from 1,800 to 2,000 square feet (sold in one-eighth fractional interests, from $795,000). Mountainside also features a 3,200-square-foot penthouse—which is a full-ownership offering—with four bedrooms, 4 ½-baths and 3,500 square feet of outdoor living space with panoramic views. Yep, that’s one of the largest rooftop decks for a private home in downtown Aspen.

Regional architectural firm O’Bryan Partnership Inc. designed the Mountainside building in keeping with the locale and the modern mountain architecture of the existing Parkside building. Locally based NCH Design echoed the contemporary interior design of the original nine residences and added enhancements such as contrasting textures and a modern color palette of blue and gray. Finishes include brushed oak floors, copper-accented woodwork and “leathered” marble kitchen countertops. Furnishings chosen for the residences include Quintus beds and fabrics by Holly Hunt, Kravet and Pindler.

Owners and guests can take advantage of the private amenities in both buildings, including a screening room; game rooms; wine cellar; fitness center; owner storage facilities; and stunning rooftop lounge with hot tubs, fire pits and a breakfast bar. Additional new features include an underground parking garage, an owner ski locker room and storage space, a reception area, and a full-service restaurant and bar set to open in the near future. There’s also a new rejuvenation spa, called The Zen Den Spa, which features a Float Pod saline floatation tank, an oxygen aromatherapy lounge, a hydromassage station and a steam chamber with stone recliners. It’s a self-service facility, so owners can access the spa at their leisure.

Another perk: Owners at Dancing Bear Aspen also enjoy membership in the Timbers Collection of top-notch properties in locations such as Maui, Hawaii; Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Tuscany, Italy. 411 S. Monarch St., 970.236.6640
