A one-of-a-kind penthouse perched high above the cityscape embodies understated luxury in neutral tones and refined palette.
Working closely with the client, Matter designed and executed on the interior architecture and oversaw the buildout of this raw penthouse space, including space planning, material selection, kitchen and bathroom design, and custom furniture design and installation.
This two-story penthouse floating 17 floors above the city boasts 360-degree views that stretch to the horizon. Our client wanted a streamlined, elegant home that maximized the impact of the glorious views and showcased her collection of hand-crafted furniture.
A neutral, understated palette and simple lines bring focus to the fine details and exotic finishes that distinguish this exceptional home.
Standout features include the custom-built furnishings, hidden-hinge, gray-stained, English sycamore doors and African wenge-wood flooring.
Features such as a see-through fireplace and a graceful, fine-lined spiral staircase maximize the light and views that make this space so magnificent. Designed exclusively for the client by Matter, the staircase was lifted and installed with help from a helicopter.
“Matter have an extraordinary sense of design, drafting ability and clear communication (all as good as any architect’s that I have used). They also have a sense of composition and color and impeccable furniture and accessory selection, making them most accomplished decorators and designers that I have ever known.” — Homeowner, Denver CO.
